Personal Project / Group Project - 4 people

2022

Context :

During December of 2022 we had to work on a personal project based on what speciality we chose.
We had the possibility of working on a same project as a group with few other members.
So basically, we shared some common ideas on the game but we worked alone on our speciality.

ROB.BOT is a Puzzle/Exploration game where the player plays as 3 different robots that he's able to switch between in various levels. Each robot has a specific ability and purpose.

SOFTWARES USED

OVERVIEW

One of the main feature in ROB.BOT is the ability to switch between each robot whenever the player wants to.

There are 3 robot categories, each one having a purpose :

Tank

  • Carry objects

  • Can't jump

  • Can't be carried

Hacker

  • Hack terminals

Support

  • Fly

  • Carry Hackers

The goal of the game is to explore the levels while collecting as many treasures as possible. While exploring the levels, you'll have to solve puzzles in order to progress or to find extra treasures.

WORK PROCESS

As a System Designer, my first thing to do was to create a Feature Document.

After that, I decided to make an Excel Spreadsheet in order to balance the economical part of the game.
(Most importantly, the robots' prices and the level's rewards).

Once I was done with the balancing, I had to imagine a persona for the game, in order to know what kind of player the game is made for.

And for the final element of documentation, I made a "What's Not" document, giving more information on what the game doesn't have, what is not wanted.
