Julien ALVES

Junior System Designer

Hi, my name is Julien Alves, I'm a Junior Game Designer specialised in System Design.
I studied at GameSup, a Game Design school located in Lyon.

I've always been playing video games. I started with the PS1 and PS2 as a kid and I progressively discovered more through years.

I grew with Pokémon, Zelda and Soul Calibur ; I fell in love with MMORPGs at the age of 9 thanks to Dofus and played through many games of that genre.

Today, I enjoy all sort of game genres, I try to discover new ones but I keep being a huge RPG and MMORPG enjoyer, my biggests influences come from games like Final Fantasy XIV, Dark Souls, Monster Hunter or Drakengard.

Creating games was something that always interested me but that I thought out of reach as a child.

As a teenager, I started making tiny game protoypes on RPG Maker and I loved it.

I've been studying Game Design for 4 years and recently graduated. My main expertise is about System Design. I create documentation on Powerpoint to gather all the important informations about the games and how they work, I use Excel to fill spreadsheets and balance games with as much precision as it's needed and I also use Photoshop to create quick photomontages and add more clarity in my work.

I worked as an intern at Nacon, a game publisher, as an Editorial Game Designer for 5 months. It was a fantastic experience in which I learned a lot about game conception. I did a lot of feedback documents that were really useful for the development studios we were working with.
